Dear Mwa Suu,

please excuse my empathetic personal addressing. It is with the greatest respect that I congratulate you to half a century of relentless fighting for the freedom and peace of your people, the henceforth hopefully united union of the Burmese society. As it seems, you have taken your country onto a majoritarian ride against oppression and misconduct; possibly magnanimously leaving behind Groce violation of civil ethics and the systematic violation of human rights by the „former“ regime. This kind of achievement was never before accomplished in one overwhelming voting sweep in history. Your personal engagement and striving vision of a democratic self-government and the graceful reconciliation with your jailkeepers is worthwhile to be a role-model for many countries in similar despair. I therefore praise your patience, your energy, your focus, your balance and hope for the best for the negotiations you will be confronted with in the near future. The old guard will not give in easily. And trouble lies ahead. But nothing less than „the people“ love you.
